Governance Administrator

New Zealand Rugby has an exciting opportunity available! We are looking for a Governance Administrator to join us to provide coordination and administrative support to the NZR Board, its Committees, the New Zealand Māori Rugby Board, and the Stakeholder Panel, ensuring governance processes run smoothly and decisions are well supported. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll help maintain strong governance systems and contribute to effective Board operations.

About the role

This role sits at the centre of NZR’s governance activity, coordinating Board and Committee planning, agendas, meetings, and the flow of Board papers and information. You’ll keep governance systems running smoothly, maintain accurate records, and make sure everything stays on track. You’ll also support the Legal team from time to time with travel and team administrative tasks. Working in an exciting sporting environment, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that enjoys what they do and takes pride in delivering amazing work.

About you

You’re an organised, proactive administrator who enjoys being in the middle of the action and supporting senior leaders. You bring solid admin or secretarial experience, ideally with governance or legal exposure, and you’re confident using tools like Diligent. You communicate clearly, produce polished documents, and stay steady when juggling competing priorities. You’re detail driven, digitally confident, and naturally proactive. Just as importantly, you bring a positive, team focused approach that fits well in a fun, exciting sporting organisation.
