Management Accountant
Overview
New Zealand Rugby (NZR) is looking for a Management Accountant to deliver high-quality financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting — and to drive process improvements through innovative systems and best practice.
Working closely with Finance Business Partners and leaders across the organisation, you’ll play a key role in helping NZR make smarter financial decisions, improve efficiency, and plan for the future.
What you’ll do:
Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports, forecasts, and variance analysis for the Board and Executive Team.
Support budgeting, and financial analysis to guide decision making.
Partner with budget managers to strengthen financial capability and ensure robust planning.
Contribute to fixed asset management, external reporting, and other key finance responsibilities.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Provincial Unions, Super Rugby Clubs, and auditors.
What you’ll bring:
Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ or equivalent) with 3+ years’ post-qualification experience.
Proven track record in management accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Experience with month-end processes such as accruals, reconciliations, and journals.
Strong systems knowledge (ideally Microsoft Business Central and Solver) with an interest in process improvement.
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to partner across diverse teams.
