New Zealand Rugby is seeking an experienced Strength & Conditioning Coach to join the NZ Sevens programmes as we build towards the 2028 LA Olympics

New Zealand Rugby (NZR), one of the country’s leading sporting organisations, is offering a unique opportunity to work alongside some of the world’s most successful rugby athletes. We’re on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Strength & Conditioning Coach to join our team supporting the All Blacks Sevens and the back-to-back Olympic gold medal-winning Black Ferns Sevens.

 


This role is based at the Adams Centre for High Performance in Mount Maunganui - the training hub for New Zealand’s elite Sevens athletes. You’ll be part of a professional, multi-disciplinary team, working in a dynamic environment where excellence is the standard, and your expertise will directly contribute to our teams’ continued success on the global stage.

 

 


Who we're looking for:


You’ll be a qualified Strength & Conditioning Coach with applied experience in a high-performance sporting environment (preferably rugby or professional team sport), including experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.

 

 


Your skill set should include:
•    Proven knowledge and application of principles of applied sports science relating to strength, power, speed, conditioning, injury prevention and rehabilitation strategies for elite athletes.
•    Familiarity with performance monitoring systems and technologies
•    A strong knowledge of rugby and the demands of Sevens rugby is a bonus
•    Outstanding organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
•    A genuine connection to our Teams in Black and the values of New Zealand Rugby – Te Ara Rangatira, The Rugby Way
•    The drive to contribute meaningfully to a team striving for gold

 

 

 

What you’ll need:
•    Relevant tertiary qualification in sport science, exercise physiology, or strength and conditioning.
•    A clear Ministry of Justice Criminal Convictions check
•    Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
